The JPG team specializes in documenting high-profile and grand events, and we were honored to be chosen to document the grand opening of Philadelphia’s newest historical museum, The Museum of the American Revolution. On April 19, -7- JPG staff documented an historic procession through Philly to the door of the new museum at 3rd and Chestnut streets. As Vice President Joe Biden, Pulitzer Prize-winning author David McCullough and broadcast journalist Cokie Roberts else addressed the crowd, thousands of people gathered just a few steps away from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The opening, including PA Gov. Tom Wolf and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, recognized the sacrifice and bravery that led to the American Revolution found here in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. From from the break of dawn through the afternoon, we filmed amongst fife and drum bands, Hamilton stars, and the profound words of our former vice president. “What did the people hear when they heard that shot heard around the world? I think it was an idea. An idea that ordinary people could do extraordinary things.”
From the ENTIRE JPG TEAM, thank you for trusting us with these festivities. An honor and a privilege. Huzzah! Huzzah!
